WELCOME BACK UCI & FRIENDS NIGHT SEPT 25th!
SPECIAL EVENT! SEPTEMBER 25th!!
lets kick off school with a dope party!!! we'd like to welcome all the returning and transfer UCI students to proof on thursday september 25th, the first day of school. let's pretend like summer is still going. last week, september 11th went off!!! kaba modern was in the house as well as all of the awesome get down oc regulars!
thursdays have grown to become a "go to" night on thursdays for those who want to "get down" to dope disco funk jazz house music! anyways, sept 25th as always will be FREE so please come by and check it out, meet some of your classmates and make new friends!!

Review for August 14th *grand opening*
i'll be the first to officially review last night,
wow... where do i even start. possibly with the talent, man, i've never seen that many DJ's turn out to make the night so accommodating for the 600 people that came out. It seemed like if you weren't feeling the music inside all that much than you could just go outside and be guaranteed some dope beats and vice versa from outside in. a lot of people were skeptic of my mixed genre night but i think i changed a lot of minds last night.
the bacon wrapped hot dogs went well as far as popularity, we sold 100 in an hour 0_o. it was our first week so we still have to fine tune our end of the service to get them out quicker to people. pictures will be up on getdownoc.blogspot.com
the attendance, holy crap!!! we had to turn away more than 50 people last night! i am really really really really sorry anyone who had to wait in line. I made sure the club would be plenty accommodating for 500 people the night before but management made me change a few things up so we lost a lot of the space we initially had. people were overall really friendly; i'm really glad.
so much more to say but.. i'll let next week do the talking.

"Last night was a blast and deserves a review and thanks.
First off, big thanks to Michael and Alex for turning Thursday night into a party, while still being a laid-back kickback with friends. Another big thanks to the grilling crew, bacon-wrapped hotdogs were crucial to the block party atmosphere. The music was great all night long, good to hear lots of mixed genres, but mostly it was high-energy all night. I wish I could have taken advantage of the drink specials more,
but there is always next week! haha
It was great to meet all you and see all the regulars, the crowd was great, good vibes! See you next Thursday night!

We Have Arrived!
GET DOWN (OC) grand opening in Santa Ana on August 14th.
Alex (DJ Jimmyrigg) and I (DGAF!) will be offering a spot for all of our friends, and all of our soon-to-be friends, to hang out and socialize in the presence of new, up and coming, talent every week! The Get Down will be located at the Proof Bar in the Santa Ana Arts District (215 N. Broadway). We will be featuring 7 LOCAL dj's each week who will showcase their talent in a much different vibe than your typical nightclub; rather than a "DJ set" I'd like to term it, a "musical performance."
The Get Down will be featuring a BBQ style back patio. We were supposed to be serving $3 Margaritas, $2.50 Coronas or Domestics outside at our beer bar but it has been requested otherwise from a higher power, still though, the beer specials remain but you'll need to buy them at the bar since we will not be allowed to sell drinks outside. Most importantly though... $1 Bacon Wrapped Hot Dogs will remain outside and we will be grilling with full force!!! There will be a DJ tent outside with talent equally amazing to what's in store for everyone in the main room of Proof.
There is a designated dance floor inside if that's what it takes for you to get your boogie on. If the dance floor is not enough to lower your inhibitions, the full bar inside will be featuring FREE champagne for ladies until 10:30 and $2 Vodka drinks for all until 12:30!
As a team, Alex and I are hoping to make Thursday nights at proof a relaxing atmosphere for people to enjoy themselves and check out the local music scene. The drinks are the cheapest I have seen around orange county and you can't beat the satisfaction of a bacon wrapped hot dog when you have the munchies. Best of all the cover is free, so give it a try one night.
